When the
Americans won the Second World War, they became the most important and powerful
people in the world. The condition of their civilization seemed improved. They
wore fashionable clothes in place of shirts. The American women developed more
confidence in them and abandoned their bad habits such as scratching in the
public and saying ‘Gosh’ in surprise. The daughters developed their sensitivity
toward the glamour. The sons became used to with the modern inventions and
facilities. But the priests, who can tell about one’s future by observing the
inner parts of birds, did not see a bright future for the American
civilization. The ‘heart’ is misplaced, i.e. the Americans have no feeling for
the humanity. It also means that they have developed a misplaced
overconfidence. The ‘seeds’ are ‘as black as death’ and are ‘emitting a strange
odor’ means that the future generation of the Americans is going to bear the
brunt of the past wrong actions. The Americans’ past indulgence in wars will
backfire.
